Stasia and Rob's Wedding

Birdies

Congratulations to Stasia and Rob who tied the knot on September 5th! I know this post is waaay over due... but I finally have some time to share a few photos with you guys. Remember how I had problems getting a dress? Well I had a lot of people reinforce the idea that wearing black to a wedding was fine and so I thank you for that because I found the best black dress! and for cheap! Hurray!

Thanks to our friend Julie Yan over at The Photo Pantry for the pictures! You worked very hard that day! Also, people! Please check out her blog! If you like food and you like photography then it's the place for you! It's very, very yummy.

Classic fight for the bouquet
Doing the classic "GIVE ME THE BOUQUET!" photo op. Good times.

Dance time!

More dancey
I have a feeling we were dancing to "Single Ladies" at this point. Put your hands up?

Again, a warm congratulations to our friend Stasia and her new husband Rob! It was a great wedding and I had a blast! First comes love.. then comes marriage... then comes that thing that I'm not allowed to mention. :)

The Apple of My Eye

Apple season is open! What better way to spend a Sunday morning than going out for a road trip, load up on freshly picked apples and have a bit of an adventure? Take a bite out of life, you know?

Last weekend we decided to do just that! It proved to be sliiightly more crisp than we're used to at this time of year but the sun warmed up and served as the perfect backdrop for our first crack at apple picking.

After a brief roadtrip into the country we found ourselves at Albion Orchards. Immediately we were drawn in to their very charming store by the smell of freshly baked apple pies. Inside were many varieties of apples, different types of tea, butter (apple, maple &, magic), baked yums and fresh veggies. We paid the fee (10 pounds for $10! A steal!), grabbed our basket and took advantage of the scenery.

Dress Dilemma

Photobucket

One of our friends is getting married in September and I like to remind her that there are "X" amount of days left until the wedding. However, the lower that number gets the more I realize that I too have something to be worried about: I have nothing to wear! Okay, okay... I know my situation is nowhere near as dire as hers must be but I'm allowed to be overwhelmed too. Right?

I've gone out a few times but its hard to stay focused. Also, I have this bad habit of buying my clothes in black and I dont want to fall into the same pattern for this dress. My first round of dress shopping resulted in me trying on five black dresses! During my second round I think I squeezed in the colour grey somewhere. Thats progress right? Ugh.

And get this, Kate's got TWO dresses in mind to choose from. Jealous!

Anyways, sorry for the lack of posts! We're working on it so keep checking in!

OMG Moment for Fall 2010

It has been torching 40c degree out here in Toronto, but I can't help but start to think about my fall Wardrobe.

I was browsing thru Style.com over the weekend, I got to say my favorite collection for Fall 2010 is Miu Miu.    You must think that my opinion is little biased as I am a big fan of the brand.  But seriously, look at the collection!

Embroidered Lace, Skinny Bow ties and Anemone Appliqué create a delicate & soft contrast to sturdy heavy felt wool fabrication.  The silhouettes are easy to wear and will look great on most body shapes.  The skinny trousers will make your leg look like they will never end.

An unexpected colour palette of Black with tangerine, gold, purple & lavender is so different rest of Fall 2010 collection.  I seriously need to add some Shocking tangerine for my fall wardrobe!

Seriously Miss Prada, you are killing me softly with your clothes.

Check out MiuMiu.com for runway video!

P.S. the sound track of runway is AMAZING - seriously - Culture club? Boy George? AMAZING!

All About AOP

Using all over print, or as we in the "industry" like to call AOP (hint of sarcasm there), is an easy way to play up an outfit and give it character. These days it's hard not to notice the surge of fun, quirky motifs that seem to be filling stores (and our closets). It seems all we want to do is cover our bodies in them! An all over body all over print, mayhaps? Yeah no...sorry, getting carried away here.

On Katie
Swallow Print Dress: Zara, Belts: Vintage, Rain Boots: Vivienne Westwood, Umbrella: Zara, Bow Ring: Topshop, Scissors Necklace: Somewhere along Queen St E.

On Kate

Did I buy Chloë Sevigny's shoes?

I am a BIG eBay fan - to buy & to sell.

I recently bought this pair of beauties off an ebay store which is run by Hilary Rosenman, a NYC jewlery designer.  She sells new & used items from her personal collection, Charlotte Ronsons & an annoymous celebrity.

So.. this pair of shoes belonged to an anonymous celebrity, who used to be a model & is now an actress.

I didn't come to think too much of it... until I rec'd the package with a note card from Miu Miu attentioned to "Chloe".

seriously... am I obsessive? or did these shoes actually belong to Chloë Sevigny? She modeled for Miu Miu Spring 1996 collection.... and she wears Sz 38, which is the size of shoes I purchased?

What do you guys think? Chloë? or am I crazy?

Canada!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

So I'm spending the day in Guelph at my parents house and having a very relaxing time. So far all I've done is sleep and eat. The plan was to come home and help my mom out with some gardening but sometimes just the idea of having a day off is enough to get me in laze-oid mode. I'm hoping that by writing this now I'll be inspired to get back to business. Slowly but surely...

I was planning on posting photos of something I worked on for the celebrations but silly me forgot my camera upload cord. Oops. I still plan on posting those photos but it will have to be for another day. In the meantime, I was thinking I should at least pop out something in honour of the day! So I was going through my mind bank trying to find some stereotypical Canadian things to photo bomb the blog with (poutine, beavertail, Celine Dion...igloos?) when I had a glorious thought! It takes only 1 photo..and yet combines 3 things truly Canadian. I present you with Jeanne Beker wearing an amazing Smythe Blanket Coat designed for HBC. Yes yes...its a winter coat and winter should be the last thing on my mind right now BUT winter is pretty much linked to Canada sooo.. that makes a 4 in 1 bonus for me!!

NYC Haul

Being only an hour plane ride away, NYC is my number one choice for a quick getaway.  What’s not to love about NYC? Weather is always nicer, food is always better (more on that later), and the shopping is gazillions time better (and cheaper)!

If you ask me, the best part about New York is to visit my dear cousin, Kathy.   She is my fashion savy guide to the big apple.  She always knows where is the best to shop, eat & play.

If you look into my cloest, it is mostly dark colours.  But for some kind of reason, I was drawn to Neon/Brights on this trip?
Tote: Marc by Marc Jacobs Special items, Dress: J-crew, Skirt: INC @ Macy’s

If you do not know about Marc by Marc special items, then  HAVE to run there on your next NYC trip.  Marc has created these special items at DIRT cheap prices.  The Hipsters sale associates at the store are all hand-picked by Marc himself!
Chain Tote & Coin Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs Special items

Of course I saved the best for last!  I don’t think I need to explain
Shoes: Miu Miu, Headband: J-crew

Stay tune for the good eats in NYC.

Miu Meow

That's shoe heaven right????

That picture is from the Miu Miu spring 2010 Collection.  For those, who are around me, must know by now... I am OBSESSED!

I am a crazy Miu Miu lover since... FOREVER... this brand captures everything that I love: fresh, unique & feminine.  They also have the BEST bags & shoes!

So when the models strolled down the Spring 2010 runway with Cats, Daisy, Sparrows and nude lady prints, I instantly fell in love.  As if Miuucia Prada knew exactly what my dream wardrobe would be! Seriously, if I could only wear one collection of clothing in my life, this would be IT!

So what is better to combine my love of the collection & my love of baking? I have recently taken up on the challenge to perfect my sugar cookie decorating skills… Here is what I whipped up over the weekend!

Special thanks to Bridget at Bake at 350 & University of Cookies for all the tips & help!

Highland Haul

I recently went on a trip to Scotland and it is now one of my favourite places to be. While I was only able to spend a week there my family and I managed to cover a good chunk of land. From Oban, to Mull, to Inverness and finally Glasgow, each place had its own unique feel and identity as well as it's own brand of beauty. I have a feeling I'll be seeing a LOT more of that country. It's in my blood!

While I was there I went a little accessory crazy I have to admit so I thought it would be fun to share some of my "haul" with you guys. Yay! One of my favourite things to ask people returning from vacation is "What did you buy!?"... so here's a little taste.

Necklaces from Top Shop. Bow clip from Primark.

Antique hair clips, 4 piece ring set, gold bow ring from Top Shop. Zebra stripe ring from Primark. Opal ring from William Morrison Jeweller in Inverness.

And finally, I'll finish things off with some smiling daisies!

Have a good day!
